Legal Practitioner - Criminal Law | Mt Isa/Normanton | Full Time | Closes 30 May 2018

Our Mt Isa team is providing an excellent opportunity for an Advocate to develop extensive experience in a variety of criminal law courts. This dedicated workplace lead by Tim Carberry has expanded by 20% in the past two years, including into remote communities such as Mornington Island, Doomadgee and Normanton with strong services in the youth jurisdiction. The opportunity is ideal for someone wishing to build on hearings experience, and work within a carefully rostered court circuit. Those with less Defence Law acumen but solid advocacy outcomes are welcome to apply.
Our modest share-house accommodation us available to facilitate a prompt commencement but may not suit all candidates longer term.

Administration, Human Resources, Finance and Information Technology

Learning and Development Co-ordinator | Brisbane Head Office | Full-time | Closes 4 June 2018

The purpose of this newly created role is to fast-track the ATSILS Workforce Development policy objectives through the delivery, co-ordination and evaluation of L&D initiatives. The role also aims to boost the practical supports required to encourage, track and record staff engagement both inside and outside the Australian Training Framework at ATSILS. With core duties undertaken, the role will also enable a well-organised learning specialist to develop key focus on an aspect relevant to your career aspirations.

Tertiary qualifications in a Bachelor’s degree is well regarded but not essential, while a Training & Assessment Certificate is essential. We can be flexible with this in accordance with the Position’s intent. Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates are very much encouraged to apply.

A component of this unique contract will also develop dynamic emerging projects such as:

  • focusing on increased management skills in supervisors and selected staff across regions;
  • developing and rolling out new learning programs State-wide (to include mentoring materials); and
  • testing a series of blended in-house courses designed to enhance service delivery for a culturally distinctive and growing client base.
