Legal Practitioner - Family Law | Townsville | Full Time | Closes 22 July 2018

Our Townsville Office seeks a skilled Legal Practitioner in Family Law. A flexible and supportive work environment with dedicated team members is available immediately. This position allows diverse case work including general Family Law matters and the growing portfolio of Child Protection casework. You do not need experience in the Child Protection field to succeed in the role. Other casework matters, such as those in domestic violence is anticipated. The Salary Package is well-structured to maximise tax benefits given our non-billable hours of service.
Ideally you will have at least two years’ PAE full-time experience, but those with less are welcome to apply if you have demonstrated advocacy aptitude and a fast learning pace. We will interview early August and look to candidates who can commence promptly.

Legal Practitioner - Criminal Law | Mt Isa | Full Time | Closes 23 July 2018

Our Mt Isa Office seeks a skilled Legal Practitioner in Criminal Law. This dedicated workplace has expanded by 20% in the past two years, including into remote communities such as Mornington Island, Doomadgee and Normanton with strong services in the youth jurisdiction. The opportunity is ideal for someone wishing to build on hearings experience, and work within a carefully rostered court circuit. Your experience with both duty lawyer type responsibilities and hearings will be a distinct advantage. We will interview at the end of July and look to candidates who can commence within eight weeks of interview.

Ideally you will have at least three years’ PAE full-time experience, but those with less are welcome to apply if you have demonstrated advocacy aptitude and a fast learning pace. Court Support Officers provide extensive service to this role and know our communities well. Our Administration Team provide steady in-house service from our Mt Isa office.

Our modest share-house accommodation is available to facilitate a prompt commencement but may not suit all candidates longer term.

Court Support Officer Cairns | Full-time | Closes 18 July 2018

Our Cairns team offers an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidate full-time social justice court and team work. You must be a steady computer user, good driver, reliable and resilient. We offer opportunity to make a difference for our people within the criminal justice system, case by case. You do not need to be studying law or justice to do a great job with us. ATSILS claims exemption under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act in identifying this role for an Indigenous candidate. Some community circuit travel may be required. Our circuit work may involve regular travel to Weipa, Aurukun, Cooktown, Atherton Tablelands and other locations. Our new Regional Manager, Mr Vincent Knox, will chair the interviews in the week 23-27 July 2018.
